Canon today released a new camera it says is aimed more for the photographer than videographer, the EOS R6 Mark III along with a new lens, the RF 45mm f/1.2 STM primey. At an RRP of $4299 it isn’t exactly aimed at the casual hobbyist I have to say – and that’s body only – but to be fair, it does pack a punch in the features and functionality departments and photographers covering a range of subjects from sports and wildlife to weddings and portraits will be the main target.
Positioned above the EOS R6 Mark II, the EOS R6 Mark III offers upgrades in resolution, tracking, and connectivity, offering additional choice alongside the existing EOS R5 and EOS R6 models.
Joining the lineup is the RF 45mm f/1.2 STM, Canon’s lightest f/1.2 RF lens at less than 350 grams. This lens is ultra-fast, features smooth autofocus and delivers performance without a professional L-series price tag.
