CyberPower launches Professional Rackmount Series UPS

CyberPower has launched its Professional Rackmount Series, updating a family of six UPS models that bring a Unity Power Factor, flexible 2U rackmount or tower installation and built-in Remote Cloud Card connectivity to businesses protecting critical IT infrastructure.

The range was developed against a clear shift in how businesses operate. Dependence on connected systems has deepened across every sector and that dependence has created demand for two things at once: dependable backup power and genuine visibility of what the protected equipment is doing.

“The new Professional Rackmount Series was built to meet growing demand for reliable power protection and remote monitoring of business-critical IT infrastructure,” said Robert Hartvigsen, General Manager ANZ at CyberPower Systems Oceania. “As businesses become more reliant on connected systems, they need solutions that provide both dependable backup power and greater visibility of their equipment. By integrating a Remote Cloud Card into every model, we are delivering a more convenient and accessible answer for businesses looking to simplify UPS monitoring and management.”

The defining feature of the range is indeed the Remote Cloud Card built into every model as remote monitoring of UPS status and operating conditions comes as standard, removing the need to buy a separate card as an add-on.

“That is the standout feature and it is the one that changes the buying decision,” Hartvigsen said. “A UPS can be commissioned and brought under monitoring in a single step instead of two separate purchases. Combined with a Unity Power Factor, a space-efficient 2U design, flexible rackmount or tower installation and hot-swappable batteries, the range delivers an impressive combination of performance, convenience and manageability.”

The series offers capacities from 1000W to 3000W. The PR1000ERT2UC and PR1500ERT2UC deliver 1000VA and 1000W and 1500VA and 1500W respectively as standard models. The PR1000ERTXL2UC, PR1500ERTXL2UC, PR2000ERTXL2UC and PR3000ERTXL2UC cover the same 1000VA and 1000W, 1500VA and 1500W, 2000VA and 2000W and 3000VA and 3000W capacities in the XL variant.

That XL distinction is the one buyers should understand before ordering. “The XL models provide additional battery expansion options for applications requiring extended runtime,” Hartvigsen said. “With six models ranging from 1000W to 3000W, customers can choose the capacity that gives them room to grow rather than sizing tightly to today’s load. Buying headroom up front is the cheaper path for most businesses, because the extra capacity sits ready for whatever gets added to the rack next, with no need to replace the unit when requirements increase.”

A business that needs longer backup times can extend runtime on an XL unit rather than replacing it. For a server room supporting a growing workload, or a network installation where graceful shutdown times are tight, that flexibility avoids a costly upgrade later.

The Unity Power Factor matters just as much. Many UPS products quote a lower power factor, which means usable wattage falls short of the nominal rating. At 100 percent, the rated output from 1000W to 3000W is genuinely available, so buyers can size a unit against the actual load it must carry.

The 2U form factor supports rackmount and tower installation, so one product suits a rack in a comms room and a shelf in a small business office. A rotatable colour LCD gives access to status and operating information whether the unit sits vertically or horizontally.

Hot-swappable batteries transform maintenance. “Batteries can be replaced without shutting down connected equipment, which removes the maintenance window that would otherwise be needed and takes away the risk that a routine service becomes an outage,” Hartvigsen said.

Pure sine wave output delivers clean power suitable for sensitive electronics and Automatic Voltage Regulation manages supply fluctuations, both of which matter where power quality is inconsistent. PowerPanel software handles monitoring and management alongside the cloud capability. Every model carries a three-year advanced replacement warranty covering the UPS and its batteries.

The range targets businesses and IT professionals who need dependable power protection and remote visibility from the same solution. That includes small and medium sized businesses, enterprise IT departments, managed service providers, IT resellers and system integrators.

“The applications are the ones that hurt most when power fails,” Hartvigsen said. “Servers, networking equipment, storage systems, communications infrastructure and surveillance systems all depend on clean, continuous power and all of them benefit from an operator knowing the state of their protection before something goes wrong.”

For managed service providers, the built-in connectivity is a practical operational gain. Remote monitoring across a client base means a failing battery or an overloaded unit can be identified during a routine check rather than after an incident, shifting the conversation from emergency response to planned maintenance.

For resellers and integrators, the value is a single family to specify across a wide range of sites with a consistent feature set and a predictable step up in capacity. “The new range strengthens our professional UPS portfolio by combining high power output, integrated cloud connectivity and flexible installation in one product family,” Hartvigsen said. “For distributors, resellers and system integrators, it creates opportunities to deliver more comprehensive power protection solutions across a broader range of IT applications.”

The commercial logic for buyers and users is straightforward. A UPS is insurance and insurance is only worth what it covers. Pure sine wave output, automatic voltage regulation and full rated wattage protect the equipment. Hot-swappable batteries and the advanced replacement warranty protect the uptime. The Remote Cloud Card protects the operator’s ability to see a problem coming and it arrives in the box rather than on a separate line of the invoice.
