Enthusiasts of visual storytelling can now book tickets to SceneScape 2026, Sony’s flagship photography, filmmaking, and content creation expo, held in Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building on 3 -4 October, with every ticket doubling as an entry to win one of five tickets to Japan valued at over *$5,000.
The two-day, fully immersive experience is open to creators of all abilities, whether they’re picking up a camera for the first time or are seasoned professionals. Attendees can get hands-on with Sony’s full camera and lens range, hear from Australia’s leading photographers and filmmakers in speaker sessions and workshops, and explore some of the best photography and short films in the country through the Alpha Awards photo gallery and Catchlight Film Festival.
- Sharna Hackett, Head of Studio – Wētā FX Melbourne
Sharna traces an unlikely path from the small town of Bega to the international VFX industry working at DNEG in London, stints in Singapore and Vancouver,before returning to Australia to lead Wētā FX’s Melbourne hub. With credits including Blade Runner 2049, Godzilla, and Talk to Me, she’ll reflect on the people and projects that shaped her career, and what keeps her excited about visual effects.
- Liam Brennan, ACS winning cinematographer
Award-winning cinematographer Liam Brennan pulls back the curtain on how high-end film and television is brought to life. Supported by Panavision Australia, the session explores the craft of cinematography and the creative range of Sony’s CineAlta lineup.
- Andyescapes & Joselyn Hanna, Northborders
In their speaker session, Stories in Motion the two photographers dive into their work that spans vibrant city streets, hidden neighbourhoods, and iconic travel destinations.
