More years ago than I care to remember, but probably getting on for 15, I was introduced to a program that literally changed the way I planned things.
Called TheBrain, which conjures up sci-fi images of a pulsating mass on a pedestal somewhere, it actually mirrored the way my mind works when I am nutting out a problem, creating a timeline or anything that has multiple contexts to it that are linked in all sorts of ways.
Today, the company announced version 15 of the TheBrain, a complete re-build from the ground up they say. And which now, of course, incorporates AI in different facets of the program including reusable AI scripting for templates analysis, and research, and an agentic AI that works within your connected knowledge.
There are new components too, with New Card, Mind Map, and Tree views. These let you switch perspective on the same connected brain without losing a single link.
Various “plans” are available for getting TheBrain. The base version was always free with a limitation on capacity that I never managed to even come close to using, but with version 15 the company has seen fit to make the Pro version, previously costing USD$15 a month the freebie.
“Team” Brain for networks is USD$25/month and the “Max” service with “even more” AI AI is USD$40 a month. Annual purchase plans are also available.
If you do a lot of planning – or a little – I can recommend TheBrain after long use in what I do from creating layouts, marketing strategies, costings, planning holidays and even writing scripts among other things.
There are Windows, Mac, LINUX andss mobile versions available.
