For 3D Creators
If you are a 3D creator and use something such as Maxon’s Cinema 4D, maybe you have had trouble finding a texture library for wood? If so, Greyscale Gorilla has released a library of over 340 wood materials including parquet, plywood, veneers, white oak, even a composite made from recycled chopsticks. Just perfect for interiors, product shots, and packaging says the company.

Astrophotographers:
I’ve mentioned the Photopills app for astrophotographers a few times over the last months. It truly is the one app you should have if you are a star or planet snapper. The guys at Photopills do more than just develop the app though as there is a huge community of users they also look after. One of the things they do each year is release a best of … series of images, and 2025 is no exception and they are now available. The Link is in the episode notes.
Audio Case Study:
Following the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris after the devastating 2019 fire, the cathedral faced a unique technical challenge: delivering reliable wireless audio across one of the world’s most complex and sensitive architectural spaces without compromising its historic fabric or day-to-day accessibility.
The cathedral has deployed Sennheiser’s Spectera wideband wireless system to support services, concerts, and live broadcasts across the cathedral’s 100-metre span, achieving full coverage with just four discreet antennas.

Adobe says Photoshop is introducing new innovations, designed to reduce tedious tasks, elevate creatives work, and give more precision and control, to iterate, maintain momentum, and spend more time bringing creative visions to life.

Case Study: Music Video
The band Kroi’s song “Method” was shot using the Blackmagic Camera app and graded with DaVinci Resolve Studio. The unique production was filmed with more than 40 iPhones running the Blackmagic Camera app, capturing the band’s performance from 360 degrees. The video has already surpassed 9.2 million views on YouTube in just two months since its release and continues to gain momentum.

Canon Australia has told us it is to be the Major Partner for Red Bull Hardline Tasmania, said to be the world’s toughest downhill mountain biking race.
The main race is joined by a stacked line up of activities for fans to get involved in, including two live podcasts featuring international podcasts, photo exhibitions and competitions for mountain bikers.

Fujifilm Teasing User Decides?
In its New Year Greeting video, Fujifilm teased the idea of letting users vote on which X Mount lenses it should develop, a move that would formalize feedback Fujifilm already says it relies on. The tease ties into an upcoming “Focus on Glass: Untold Stories” event, set for March 5, where Fujifilm plans to outline its lens philosophy, highlight what makes its existing glass unique and float new lens ideas that could shape what comes next.
