The GoPro ecosphere (and this sort of includes the DJI OSMO Action as they share the same mounting system) has spawned a whole plethora of different mounting options.
I have a box full of ‘em, covering everything from surfboards to car windscreens, fishing rods to helmets and handlebars to even my dog.
One of the newest, and sporting a locking mechanism called CapLock, is a neck mount from PGYTECH, and I am guessing is aimed at the action junkie that needs both hands free at all times. Rock climbing, bike riding and surfing all spring to mind, and I am sure I could think of a dozen others if I put my mind to it.
The system is simplicity itself. The mount is made up of a flexible rubber covered band that has the CapLock connection on one end. The other end has a tongue that fits into it and locks in place, only released by pressing a button on the base.
A strap is also supplied that attaches to the mount and then can go around your body to increase stability.
The camera is mounted to a standard GoPro style “two finger” plate that is then slid into the CapLock mount and locked in place.
It’s a pretty foolproof system, that can lend itself to other methods I’d suggest, due to the flexibility of the thing. For example, it could be double wrapped around your wrist, used around tree branches, or as in the photo, even around the neck of DougietheDoggy.
The PGYTECH Neck Mount retails for AUD$47.95.
