DJI has released a major firmware update for the MAVIC 4 Pro.
In the past, if you wanted to change focal lengths, you had to stop shooting, change to the new focal length and restart shooting. This of course meant you may loose valuable critical moments of your video.
The new update, which applies to both normal and slow-motion video modes eliminates this issue, which is a huge improvement for the professional and casual shooter alike.
In short, you can now zoom in or out without interrupting the shoot. I can see how people who shoot sport and wildlife in particular with be telling “Hooray! At last!”
Dynamic Home Point
Other additions in the update, designated as firmware version 01.00.0300, include new portrait mode options with lossless and cropped vertical shooting and even better for some, an update to the dynamic home point functionality.
The latter means that when paired with a RC-2 controller, the drone’s return-to-home location to update automatically based on the controller’s position. This is an absolutely critical factor when shooting from moving vehicles and especially boats.
