A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I had found some really good training courses for Cinema 4D, the 3D modelling, animation and motion graphics program from Maxon / Red Giant.
While there is a trial version of Cinema available, some may take a little longer to see if they actually like playing around with stuff like this. With the trial only going for a month, this may not be enough.
There is a solution though, and it may very well turn out to be a long term one. You see, there is a free version of software called Blender that is also a 3D animation and motion graphics app.
But unlike many programs that are free, Blender, just like DaVinci Resolve is to video editing, is no lightweight. Quite the opposite. It is also available for both Mac and PC as well as LINUX so download it and have a look. There are lots of YouTube tutorials too, but if you prefer the written word, you can get the 600 page Blender for Dummies training book for about $40.
I have one copy to give away to the first person that can email me at david@creativecontent.au the answer to the question;
“What is the name of the mutant who can manipulate emotions in Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series of books?”
Blender is available at blender.org
