I have been searching for the ‘perfect’ camera / drone backpack for more time than I care to think.
I would have thoughts my needs were simple; lots of adjustable compartments, plenty of external pockets, water resistant with a raincoat available, comfortable and able to carry a tripod and drinks bottle as well.
It would be designed such that all contents are quickly and easily accessible.
I need it to carry a couple of GoPros / DJI Action 3s, a DJI Mini 3 Pro and controller plus battery charger and batteries and a Fujifilm X-S10 and a couple of lenses.
Accessories wise, a GoPro box with filters, waterproof housing, MediaMod and Max Lens Mod and various utility mounts need to go in, along with a Sennheiser XSW wireless mic and MKE400 camera mount mic, a sleeve container for SD cards, USB chargers, a pair of Powerbanks and of course USB cables, AA and AAA batteries etc.
I would initially also have liked to have been able include a Zhiyun Crane-M 3S or DJI RS Mini 3 gimbal in there too, but that would be stretching it. For travelling purposes therefore, I’ll opt to take the Zhiyun unit as it comes with its own case, and keep the DJI model for stuff closer to home or when I am driving as against flying.
Anyway, my long search seems to be at an end; by chance in my local Camera House store yesterday I found the promaster Cityscape 75 backpack and so far, it has ticked all the boxes. And at $249 it is a reasonable price I feel, and I was happy to shell out the money.
It even has provision for a laptop which is a bonus (when I travel, I only take a base Microsoft Surface along with a Samsung tablet so don’t need huge amounts of room in that area).
But the proof will be in the pudding and if there are any issues, I’ll be sure to report back during the trip.
