With no local GoPro PR representation, getting info on new and upcoming products is like pulling teeth from the parent company in the USA. Actually, more correctly, there IS no information forthcoming from there either, just roars of silence I am afraid.
But by keeping ears to the ground and constant eyes on its website, I have discovered this, a new AI fluid gimbal from the company that whilst not yet released, is apparently available for pre-order.
It is described as:
- Robust 3-Axis Gimbal with interchangeable mounts for GoPro cameras, smartphones and compact point-and-shoot cameras weighing up to 400 grams.
- Forward or Rear-Facing AI Subject Tracker that locks onto faces or bodies to keep subjects perfectly framed.
- Integrated Fill Light for balanced, professional-looking shots during the day and at night.
- Up to 18 hours of runtime with power bank functionality to charge your devices on the go.
It’s not going to be cheap at USD$229.99 (about AUD$350) plus probably any Uncle Donald tariffs of course. The alternatives from Zhiyun though are also not exactly inexpensive with the Crane M3 at $479.
