Every so often I get asked if I ever intend to branch out beyond cameras, camcorders, video, editing, audio, drones and so on.
The short answer is no, as I have neither the time nor frankly, the inclination. I just cannot get excited by the newer tech that surrounds us these days in watches to washing machines, hair dryers to vacuum cleaners, fridges to TVs, or even EV vehicles.
I’ve been doing my own thing with Australian Videocamera / Creative Content since 2007, had 3 years before that as Managing Editor for Videocamera magazine and nearly 15 years before that in general PC / software technologies and reviews for the likes of APC, PCUser PCWorld etc – and that is the universe I think I am best staying.
However, the journalist tech fraternity is a small one (and sadly getting smaller as we stop getting support from vendors, with huge thank you’s to Blackmagic Design, Sennheiser and Global Drone Solutions in particular) and we all pretty much know each other.
One of the best at this stuff is Nick Broughall, who like me totally independent, and writes about all those things I mentioned and more. He also has a weekly newsletter.
So I am recommending to all my subscribers and readers that if you want the all the gen on this sort of kit, rock over to the website of BTTR: Reviews at https://www.bttr.reviews/tag/reviews/ and tell him I sent you.
