DJI today unveiled the DL 75mm F1.8 lens. This innovative medium telephoto lens boasts the widest aperture and longest focal length of any DJI DL Lens. It was custom-designed for the Inspire 3 cinema drone’s Zenmuse X9-Air gimbal camera. With the introduction of the DL 75mm lens, DJI’s full-frame lens selection now spans ultra-wide, wide, standard, and medium telephoto focal lengths, catering to a wide range of cinematographic needs.
“With the new DJI DL 75mm lens, we continue to bring innovation to the filmmaking industry by pushing aerial and handheld cinematography to new heights,” says Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director at DJI. “As a leader in civil drone and creative camera technology, we aim to provide creators with the professional tools they need to unlock their creative potential and bring their visions to life.”
Long 75mm Focal Length for Richer Imagery
Featuring the longest focal length in DJI’s DL mount lens lineup, the DJI DL 75mm focal length can capture images with a richer depth of field. Creators will be able to shoot the rich details in natural landscapes, close-ups of a high-speed car chase from a safe distance, and complex compositions of characters in every scene.
Ultra-Wide F1.8 Aperture for All-Day Performance
The DJI DL 75mm wide F1.8 aperture ensures outstanding image performance even in night or low-light conditions. It also allows for a shallower depth of field for more stylised shots that blur the background to focus on the subject. Combined with Inspire 3’s dual ISO with an EI of 800 and 4000, the DL 75mm can reproduce the pure and transparent quality of urban night scenes, capturing the charm of light and shadow from an aerial perspective.
Outstanding Optical Quality
The DJI DL 75mm’s optical structure features ten elements in nine groups, including three extra-low dispersion lenses. Meanwhile, the UMC coating further minimises internal reflections to deliver higher contrast and clearer images. This unique design provides shots with high sharpness and low chromatic aberration, capturing detailed and true-to-life high-quality images.
Lightweight Design for Ultra-High Maneuverability
The DJI DL 75mm is optimised for aerial cinematography. With its integrated carbon fibre housing design, the lens weighs only 269 grams, meeting the high mobility requirements of the Inspire 3 cinema drone. Additionally, the pitch axis and yaw axis counterweight blocks allow the drone’s gimbal to maintain flight balance.
