Yesterday Blackmagic Design released Public Beta 3 of DaVinci Resolve 20 and Fusion Studio 20. This update adds further improvements to the DaVinci and Fusion public betas.
The DaVinci Resolve 20 update includes improved character styling and labelling of MultiText layers. This means you can now assign editable names to individual MultiText layers, making them easier to identify when editing. In addition, character styling and text resizing will now accurately apply to all selected layers, simplifying the process of managing multiple text elements at once.
This update also supports more responsive editing of keyframes and curves in the curves editor window. This means large position changes, such as during transforms or cropping, will no longer affect visibility of the keyframes. Additionally, audio sync has been improved for sub-clips, so in and out points will now be accurately reflected across both original high-res and proxy clips.
There are also improvements when playing back timelines or clips with burnt in data like timecode, source file names or grade versions. This means reviewing footage with burnt in data will no longer affect playback performance, making it faster to make selections and complete your project.
For Studio users, this update provides better subtitle animation for a wider range of languages. Now when working in languages with unique character spacing, such as Chinese or Thai, the correct separation between words will be recognized, ensuring individual word animations are applied accurately.
The Fusion Studio update also adds the improved character styling and labelling of MultiText layers, as well as better application of 3D dome lights in stereoscopic 3D and improved consistency of LUT application in open color IO view. There are numerous other small improvements and bug fixes for Fusion Studio 20 public beta.
