This Website History
In December 2006 the magazine Videocamera, of which I was the Editor, abruptly closed.
Even I didn’t know this was going to happen – a subscriber who tried to renew found out and told me.
In April of the following year, after lots of research in the art of physical publishing and all the necessary things that went with it that I had never been privy to or even needed to know, I launched Australian Camcorder as a paper-based magazine available on subscription and through news agencies, along with a supporting website.
Over the years there has been changes, the biggest being renamed as Australian Videocamera.
But time catches up, and the old Australian Videocamera, by name, did not truly reflect exactly what we did in terms of content. No longer did we just review video cameras.
There were editing systems to explore, motion graphics and special effects, audio, lighting, accessories and 3D simulation and animation programs to look at. Not to mention Action Cameras, 360º imaging, and of course drones.
On top of that, we became a sort of de-facto mouthpiece for the industry with it using us, to tell you, their customers, what the video, film and photography world is doing.
It was time for a change. And that change is Creative Content, our new website and a brand new e-magazine to come.
The old Australian Videocamera website will be retained as an archive and is totally searchable. There are thousands of stories, reviews, tutorials, case studies and so on there and that is far too valuable to let go.
But this website will draw on that experience, and be even better! And I value everyone’s ideas and input to make it the best it can be.

My Bio Information
G’day, I’m David Hague from Creative Content.
For more than 40 years I have been writing about and reviewing tech and creating tutorials for virtually every major Australian tech magazine, as well as weekly national and state newspaper IT pages.

In that time I also had a weekly show with a 4 year run on Radio 2GB, plus a year on Sydney’s Triple M with talkback shows such as Chip for Brains and ‘Net at Night.
Earlier, I enjoyed 2 years with my own show on Radio Northern Beaches, Sydney.
In the mid 90’s I wrote and directed the original Australian video training for Microsoft Office and Windows.
Later, I edited Free Access and Videocamera magazines and in 2007, created my own publication, Australasian Camcorder, which exists to this day under the Creative Content banner of this website and its associated e-Magazine.
