In the various Facebook forums over the years, there have been many, many requests for crew personnel, often asking for those with experience AND with their own gear, to help out on a particular project or another.
I have no issue with that and indeed, encourage it.
What I do have an issue with, is people asking others, professional and with gear or not, to do it for free.
