Aussie Stan Harrington’s “Cash 3” Wins Best Action Feature at Indiewood Film Festival

Stan Harrington, director, producer, and writer of the action films Cash and its sequel Cash Two, has taken home the Best Action Feature award at the Indiewood Film Festival, held at the historic Mann’s Chinese Theatre, for the latest chapter in the series, Cash 3.

Harrington has reunited with Sundance Media Group legend Douglas Spotted Eagle to complete Cash 4, the final installment in the Cash franchise.

The film is scheduled to premiere at Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood in February 2027.

Principal photography for Cash 4 will take place largely in Australia, with additional scenes filmed in Greece and Turkey.

Returning series regulars include, Anthony Moceri, Rick Peters (Dexter), Francis Cronin (Guns Up), Caitlin Wood, and Douglas Bennett (Sons of Anarchy). They will be joined by a strong Australian contingent led by producers Luke Robson, George Iaquinto, and John Iaquinto.

The new cast features television legend Jan Russ of Neighbours fame and Cheryl Rixon, the legendary Australian model and actress known for her extensive television and print work before relocating to the United States, where she appeared opposite Kurt Russell in Used Cars and with Danny DeVito in Swap Meet.

Additional Australian talent includes Alice Kidman, Coby Connell, Dan Murtaugh, Peter Richards, Peter Barbaro, Maddie Thompson, Blake Andrew Jackson Haar, Anthony Kleeman, Nathan Mandar, Chris Lowe, and many others.

In Cash 3, protagonist Cash Prior is drawn back into action when his girlfriend’s mother is abducted by a ruthless biker gang.

In Cash 4, Cash travels Down Under to assist his friend and federal agent Danny with a high-stakes case, repaying an earlier favour. Whether Cash ultimately returns to the United States remains to be seen when the film arrives in 2027.

True to form, Harrington will handle post-production on VEGAS Pro, a platform he’s remained loyal to throughout his career and that credits with significant, innovative improvements. He notes that under Boris FX’s stewardship the software continues to advance with a compelling vision for the future.
