This footage is a perfect example of the benefits of shooting 360° with something like the DJI AVATA 360, DJI 360 or GoPro Max.
The first clip shows the “camera view” from the AVATA 360. That is, the forward view that you would get from a normal drone shot or standard action type camera. Nothing overly exciting here, just a nice view of yours truly with Jacqui at Entrance Point in Broome in the Kimberley district of Western Australia, with the Broome jetty behind us.
The second clip shows what is possible when you have 360° footage to play with. Here, I have switched to the “Free View” mode, letting me pan the edit through the full 360°s available to me – and lo and behold! We see something that a normal camera would have missed entirely!
These are exactly the same clip, just keyframed from different viewpoints.
