New Release: BorisFX Crumplepop

BorisFX has been around seemingly forever, but over the past few years it has followed the likes of Red Giant and branched out beyond its original core product base of Continuum and the FX Suite.

Its latest is an audio application called Crumplepop and I reviewed the original package back in April last year where I observed I loved the program but hated the name.

Well, I still hate the name, but now there is a new and enhanced version of Crumplepop available and it comes in four different flavours depending on your needs.

The freebie starter version is a stand alone only package that gives you a bare minimum of tools to play with – Rustle Remove, Pop Remove and Sound App basics. You also get trial versions of more sophisticated tools such as AudioDenoise, Voice Enhance and 5 others.

For USD$15 / month, the Creator version is still stand alone but comes with 10 tools and allows you the choice of getting one host plugin for programs like Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Garageband, Final Cut Pro and so on.

Moving up the scale is the Pro version that has all the tools and supports all the major hosts, and this is on a subscription of USD$23 / month while at the top of the pile is the Pro Perpetual version where you pay a one-off fee of USD$599 that is the same as the Pro version in its capabilities and options.

BorisFX says Crumplepop is now AI based making it ridiculously easy to use but giving sophisticated results. They have put an impressive sample on their website where you can play an interview with the audio unprocessed and then processed with various Crumplepop tools so you can hear the difference.
