Over the last few months I’ve mentioned a number of times that when I create a video tutorial or review, I have been using the Elgato Prompter hardware and software combo – that I eventually found could be voice driven.
Today, a new beta of the software was released for Windows and MacOS called Elgato Studio 2.0, and it looks very promising with a number of nifty new features.
For starters, as well as importing scripts (I currently use Word to create them), you can now create scripts directly inside Script Editor 2.0 complete with auto-save, proof reading and search right there in the editor.
Secondly, as well as the script flowing on the teleprompter, it an be mirrored on the PC or Mac with an Operator Preview option. This adds extra flexibility in that a second person can floow along, or you can use the PC as a separate prompter it seems _ I have to try that and see but this is what is intimated.
The Voice Sync has ben updated to; you can set the rate of scroll to constant, or with Voice Sync activated (In either German or English with more language packs to come), Script Editor 2.0 will follow you voice and scroll the text at the same speed.
Elgato says it has increased the scrolling response, improved speech detection, lowered the resource usage and both Intel and AMD processors are now supported.
Finally, and this is a feature I doubt I’ll use, but a Chat Mode brings Twitch, YouTube and Kick chats into a unified multi-chat on the Prompter letting you check your viewer counts without needing to look away.
