For quite a few years, the few times I have had to do a Zoom or Teams conversation, I have been using a headset / mic combination I picked up during my COVID sojourn with the local Jaycar store.
They were cheap-ish, used Bluetooth and did the job, albeit sometimes having to given a metaphorical kick in the guts to wake them up on occasion.
After a few days testing, I think I’ll now pension them off in favour of a pair of Verbatim neckband earbuds though.
These have a number of distinct advantages over the Jaycar set.
Active Noise Cancellation
Firstly they have -22db active noise cancellation which the Jaycar set doesn’t have, as well as a transparency mode so that outside noise can filter through when you need that provision.
Second, they have multi-point pairing so you can for example, be paired to both your laptop and smartphone at the same time.
Thirdly, there is no base station needed for charging – just a simple USB-C cable, and you get around 28 hours out of a charge.
And last, but not least, they sound good and feel comfortable.
The controls are minimal and straight forward, if you are a gamer there is special mode to minimise latency so for $49, you can’t go wrong.
Bit of a no-brainer really if you work, travel, train or run in an environment where you can use them.
