The Capture: Compelling Television – with a message we all should heed.

I’ve been doing a lot of looking at video editing software doing stuff like tracking, green screen work and so on of late, and find it fascinating as to what can be done using both drones and cameras such as the DJI Action 6, Pocket 4 and AVATA 360.

These little beasts have so much tech jammed into them I am not surprised the United States of AmericaLand is a little worried about the possibilities of snooping on its soil.

In conjunction with editing programs like DaVinci Resolve from Australia’s own Blackmagic Design with its Fusion component, plugins such as Mocha Pro from BorisFX and audio enhancement eg Sound Forge or CrumplePop, the unreal can easily become the real.

All it needs is a little time to learn how these tools can be used. There is a whole bunch of tutorials out there to show you.

If you want a look at what *might* be possible, grab the program “The Capture” on ABC iView. The three series of 6 episodes each will make you think twice about Big Tech and what it can do with all that data they obtain.

That you give freely to them I might add.

Not to mention how they can then use it to manipulate corporates, government and policy.

Think about (possibly) what Musk (possibly) did for Trump in the last election and what he (has not *quite*) admitted to, after you watch the The Capture. Then it becomes scarier still).

I also hark back to Isaac Asimov, who actually predicted this stuff last century with his Foundation Trilogy – a MUST read for any IT /computer nerd out there – and the science of psychohistory and the Prime Meridian.

In short, it’s all about the algorithm, or as Asimov called it, The Prime Meridian.

Now, I don’t give a rats, if today, Big Tech knows I bought a packet of vanilla flavoured Uncle Toby’s Oats from Coles in Australind, like Teelings Irish Whisky over Jamiesons, or that BP is my preferred fuel supplier for my 22 year old Holden Monaro VY, but when you watch The Capture, you’ll se why it can matter in the overall scheme of things.

And social issues aside, it is compelling television and bloody good scripting, casting and filmmaking and worth the watch for anyone aspiring to the craft.
