Nikon SnapBridge App Upgrade

Nikon has released the latest upgrade for its SnapBridge app with the version 2.11.0.

Building on its earlier version, the new version features solutions for beginner photographers including configuring camera shooting settings using a smartphone, saving customised shooting settings to the camera’s settings and easy shooting setups for a variety of scenes and situations, including the bokeh and motion blur functions.

Nikon will continue to enhance the app’s usability, compatibility and strengthen functions to provide more users with increasingly rich imaging experiences, well into the future.

Key advances

1.Easy Shooting Setup

With the new Easy Shooting Setup feature on the smartphone app, users can now adjust their camera settings effortlessly. This feature, found under the [Easy Shooting Setup] button in the camera tab, includes functionalities like [Remote Photography].

What’s more, users can save their preferred or commonly used shooting settings to the User settings, ensuring a seamless shooting experience. The interface is user-friendly, designed to guide new users through complex scenarios with helpful tips. In addition, saved user settings on the camera can be activated instantly, for models: Nikon Z 30, Z 50, and Z 5.

  1. A Variety of Scenes/Situations

In addition to the basic settings, the Easy Shooting Setup feature is equipped to handle a wide variety of 22 different subjects, scenes, and situations. It allows users to customise effects like Bokeh for background softening or sharpness, as well as Motion Blur for creating motion trails or freezing motion. With these capabilities, users are well-equipped to capture various moments.

The feature also provides a list of Shooting Tricks and Tips, providing solutions and advice for various shooting scenarios, especially for beginner photographers. Users can even check the details of each shooting setting configured with the feature, allowing them to understand what settings have been applied and make their own adjustments for future shoots.

  1. New Wi-Fi mode

The new Wi-Fi mode allows direct connection between your Nikon camera and your phone, which can subsequently link to the internet. After the initial setup, this Wi-Fi connection automatically establishes whenever the camera is turned on. This eliminates the need to manually start a connection each time and enhances connection stability for future use. This seamless integration of automatic connection, internet access, and stability enhancements makes the new Wi-Fi mode a convenient and reliable feature for photographers.

*The camera compatible with this feature will be the Z 9 only.
